To get the most out of your VR and AR experience, consider getting a Google Expeditions kit for your classroom. With VR and AR, teachers are no longer limited by the space of the classroom. VR lets you explore the world virtually while AR brings abstract concepts to life—allowing teachers to guide students through collections of 360° scenes and 3D objects, pointing out interesting sites and artifacts along the way.

Get a kit for your classroom
Expeditions kits have everything you need to bring VR and AR to your school. One kit includes: teacher and student devices, virtual reality viewers, chargers and a router to connect your devices. There’s also an option to include selfie sticks to enhance AR experiences. Available for groups of 10, 20, or 30 students.
Get the Expeditions app
If you built your own Google Expeditions kit, you’re ready to install the Expeditions app. Guides and explorers use the same app. You can use the app on Android (including ChromeOS devices capable of running Android apps) and Apple® iOS® devices. Make sure your devices meet the device requirements.
Using managed devices
If your school uses managed Android devices, students might not be able to install the Expeditions app themselves.
Contact your school’s administrator to install the app for managed devices, both Android and managed iOS devices.
Get the app on Android
- On your device, tap Play Store .
- Search for Google Expeditions.
- Tap Expeditions Install.
Note: If you’re prompted to update ARCore, connect to Google Play to update.
Get the app on iOS
- On your device, tap App Store.
- Tap Search and enter Google Expeditions.
- Tap Expeditions Get Install.
